Blue Hole Eco Tour & Animal Encounter

Hoyo Azul (Blue Hole) ecological tour is designed to educate and bring our visitors face to face with nature to observe the Dominican Republic’s eco systems and how many different plants grow and proliferate in a controlled and also wild environment. You will be accompanied by an experienced guide that will guide you through amazing eco trails where you will have the opportunity to visit Orchid, Bromeliad, fern, cactus and endemic plants stations, stopping briefly at each station and learning everything about these fascinating species of plants. The tour will end up at Hoyo Azul Cave; this is a natural pool, with crystal clear blue water, formed at the base of a giant cliff. Visitors will be able to jump in and enjoy these fresh and reviving waters for 30 minutes. Before we return back to the lobby we will have a brief stop at our animal encounter area where you will have the opportunity to have face-to-face contact with the Park’s animals, such as macaws, python snakes, or other rare and exotic animals. You may interact with trainers and ask questions about the species.

Your tour guide will share all of the interesting facts for the cultural lovers. Tour the Hato Caves, which are older than 200,000 years old. At the caves, you'll get the chance to see the beautiful stalagmites and stalactites! Make time to enjoy the beach as you'll be taken to one of islands best rated and natural tropical beaches on the west coast. At the beach you will have the option to go on a guided snorkeling safari escapade where you can find colorful tropical fishes. For the beach lovers who just want to relax and swim, beach beds are available for you to enjoy. Finally on the return trip, you will have a short photo stop at the salt flats. If you are lucky, you will be able to see some wild flamingos.
