We are going on a Royal Carribbean cruise October 10-17; Enchantment of the Seas! We are excited to take on this adventure together and have found a few things to do for fun. We appreciate any and all contributions to our Honeymoon.

"Join us on a journey to the ancient place of Mayan pilgrimage known today as Chacchoben, “The Place of Red Corn.” At the pier you will be greeted by bilingual guides who will direct you to an air-conditioned bus. Onboard the bus your guide will brief you on the interesting history and unique culture of the tour ahead. The bus ride to Chacchoben is about 50 mins. When you arrive, your guide will escort you through the ruins located deep in the Mayan Jungle, giving you complete explanations of the sacred temples and other structures seen there as well as great information about this ancient civilization. See original red paint on the stucco walls of one of the pyramids and the temple where a mural was found showing the astronomical positions of the planet Venus. You will have time to climb the Gran Basamento taking you above tree level, here archaeologists found ceremonial offerings dating to around 1,000 B.C. Your guide will also explain about the wildlife and medicinal plants that are used by the modern-day descendants of the ancient Mayan people. Tour includes complimentary beverages."

On your narrated drive to Lamanai, relax in air-conditioned comfort while passing though historic villages which were the original settlements of the colony of British Honduras. When you reach Ayinha Eco Park, board a speedboat to ride along the New River Lagoon, rich in diverse, exotic wildlife. At Lamanai, explore what was once a major city of the Maya civilization, occupied as early as 1500 BC. Make your way the top of the 108-foot-tall High Temple for sweeping views of the jungle and the New River Lagoon. After, return to Ayinha to enjoy a tasty Belizean-style lunch, cooked with local coconut oil and seasoned to perfection.
