John and I met through a mutual friend, Dan Howard, in 2005. We hung out from time to time, but life got in the way so we drifted, but stayed in touch and stayed friends throughout. I moved to New Hampshire in 2010 and in 2011 we started talking again on Facebook about books and other things. In October of that year, we were talking pretty much every day and I found myself thinking about him one day in a more than friends way. I told him about it and was pleased and surprised to find that he had been feeling the same. Because he was still living in Maryland, we had a long distance relationship at first, but I transferred from my job in New Hampshire to the same job in Maryland, living a few places in West Virginia and in Maryland before he and I finally moved in together in 2013. We've had our ups and downs like any couple, but there's no one else I'd rather be with and no one else I'd rather spend the rest of my life with.
